Background: Mobile health (mHealth) applications have emerged as important tools for improving healthcare delivery, promoting patient engagement, facilitating disease management, and enhancing communication between patients and healthcare providers. The widespread adoption of smartphones has enabled healthcare services to become more accessible, personalized, and data-driven. Objective: To evaluate the role of mobile health applications in enhancing patient engagement, self-management behaviors, healthcare utilization, and health outcomes. Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted among 1,500 patients using mobile health applications across multiple healthcare institutions. Data were collected through structured questionnaires assessing app utilization, engagement levels, health behaviors, satisfaction, and perceived benefits. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and multivariate logistic regression. Results: Approximately 79.6% of participants reported regular use of mobile health applications. Medication reminders (72.8%), appointment scheduling (68.4%), health monitoring (66.7%), and teleconsultation services (58.9%) were the most frequently utilized features. Higher engagement levels were associated with improved medication adherence, increased healthcare participation, and better chronic disease self-management. Conclusion: Mobile health applications significantly enhance patient engagement and healthcare participation. Continued investment in user-centered design, data security, and healthcare integration is essential to maximize their effectiveness and promote patient-centered care.
