Background: The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) represents a rapidly evolving ecosystem of interconnected medical devices, sensors, software applications, and healthcare systems that communicate through internet-based networks. IoMT has emerged as a transformative technology capable of improving healthcare delivery, patient monitoring, disease management, and clinical decision-making. Objective: This study examines the role of IoMT in healthcare delivery, evaluates its applications, benefits, challenges, and future prospects, and assesses its impact on healthcare quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes. Methods: A narrative review of literature published between 2018 and 2025 was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. Studies focusing on IoMT applications, remote patient monitoring, wearable devices, healthcare analytics, and digital health infrastructure were included. Results: IoMT technologies significantly enhance real-time patient monitoring, chronic disease management, telemedicine, hospital automation, and emergency care. Major benefits include improved patient outcomes, reduced healthcare costs, enhanced clinical decision-making, and increased healthcare accessibility. Challenges include cybersecurity risks, data privacy concerns, interoperability issues, and regulatory complexities. Conclusion: IoMT is revolutionizing healthcare delivery by enabling connected, data-driven, and patient-centered care. Future advancements in artificial intelligence, 5G connectivity, edge computing, and predictive analytics are expected to further expand IoMT capabilities and improve healthcare systems worldwide.
